A perceived distance from a person - or something else one might long for - may make caring for affection difficult, but it does not make it superfluous. On the contrary, a society that would place more value on caring relationships would perhaps not only be more beautiful and friendly, but also more egalitarian and just - a society of relations that offers space for the other(s) next to us.
With her next solo Camille Mutel proposes a choreographic reflection on what would happen if we did not think of the "proximity" of the present in the sense of "being", but of the in-between, which makes the intimate happen in a way to be constantly defined anew.
The next piece challenges the limitation between stage and audience along a new, intimate question: What can I offer to you? Different Gestures of Offering will invite the audience into a space that embraces the in-between between the dancer and the audience, the space and certain objects, and among them - for each one becoming the relational space for the other.
Together with lighting designer Philippe Gladieux, Camille Mutel creates an inviting space of encounter into which the spectator can immerse into. Giving the audience a feeling of security, ready to open up and sink into a common existence for a moment in time - a landscape of relations: That’s where we'll meet !
